trompe l'oeil

I've just set up my first ever blog - 'trompe l'oeil'. This term in French means to 'fool the eye'. The visual expression of the trope l'oeil technique in painting has certain characteristics which I, as a novice blogger, hope to use as a guide or measure - or perhaps a unattainable but viewable goal - in my blogging. Trompe l'oeils are both visually and intellectually interesting, humorous, fun, and easily enjoyed. It is with these happy ambitions in mind that I tentatively make my first post! x x
